Bo ad the Night Intruder
Bo And the Night Intruder: During some vigorous digging, a rock rolls on Bo’s foot. Mrs. Barnett, who is Bo’s caretaker while her son is in Alaska and her teenage neighbor, P. J. Brown, find taking care of the dog outfitted with medical devices for the sprain, a frustrating task. As P. J. assists Mrs. Barnett with Bo’s confinement, he, Joe Garcia, and Joe’s cousin from Mexico, start working at a newly opened restaurant. Inky’s Big League Burgers Sports Café when it begins to experience someone breaking into the popular restaurant. Each time there is a break-in more damage is done. After Bo’s foot heals, P. J. takes the dog with him to work. The two brave a frightening encounter with someone trying to break in the restaurant making Bo a hero after he confronts the night intruder.
FOR DISCUSSION:
Friendship: Describe how Mrs. Barnett shows that she is a friend to P.J. How does P.J. show that he is a considerate person? How does Joe, Ann, and Mary show that they are Mrs. Barnett’s friends?

From (chapter 5) list what a person needs to do to become a citizen of the United States of America. Why is Mary already an American citizen? On (p. 77) who did you think broke into the restaurant?

Noun- A noun is the name of a person, place, or thing. Look on (p.13) to find the names of 2 people, find the names of 4 places, and find 2 things.Interjection- Words that express strong feelings followed by an exclamation mark are interjections. Find an interjection on (p.11, p. 25, and p. 109).Contractions- Contractions are two words put together with one or more letters left out and an apostrophe is put in that place to show where the letters are missing. Look on (p.49 and p.54) to find 2 contractions and then write on your paper the letters that are missing.Adjectives- Adjectives describe a noun or pronoun. Look on (P.55) and find 3 adjectivesAdverb- An adverb answers the questions how, where, when, how many times, and to what extent? Look on (P.57) and find two adverbs.Conjunctions- Conjunctions connect words, phrases, and clauses. Math: Look on (p. 71), how many is a quartet? Name those who make up the quartet. On (p.15) Mrs. Barnett gave Bo only half a biscuit, write how much she gave him as a fraction. On (p. 22) if it is 10:00 a.m. how many hours until 2 p.m.? On (p.31) write the sum total of the baseball teams Pete Incaviglia played on. From (p. 38) write in number numbers twenty-four-hour. How many tens are there in that number and how many ones? List the items of food on (p.55). On (p. 69) P.J. tells Mrs. Barnett he leaves for work about seven-thirty, write it in numbers and include if it is a.m. or p.m.?.
