What people are saying about
Argyle Then and Now

ARGYLE Then AND Now by local author Lynn Sheffield Simmons
Have you ever wondered what your hometown of Argyle was like "way back when"?
In her new book ARGYLE Then AND Now, Argyle's own Lynn Sheffield Simmons has just made available to the public her newest book which I consider to be her best one yet!

In ARGYLE Then AND Now Lynn takes us on a journey in a beautifully written pictorial history of our little piece of paradise. From the scenic book cover to the last page, Lynn has done an amazing job of taking us through the years and history of Argyle. The writing is informative and the photos literally "POP" on every page.

Lynn Sheffield Simmons new book Argyle Then and Now is excellent.  She has done a terrific job of dividing the book into various sections that will appeal to everyone’s interests.  If you are interested in small towns and their history, people, landmarks and even their animals this is a great read.  Since I am an animal lover my favorite chapter of the book is Argyle Animals.  I have lived in Argyle for 23 years and I learned from Argyle Then and Now that the town actually has five historical markers.  We are lucky to have a writer like Lynn Sheffield Simmons living in our community to remind of us of how unique the town of Argyle is and how lucky we are to live in this special place.

This is an amazing book. It complements the other two books Lynn has written too. If you don't own them, you should! Her children's books are also great too.
